Every year on International Women’s Day, communities around the world come together to celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of women. This year, our 8M celebration took the form of something beautifully expressive — an art event where creativity, conversation, and connection filled the room.
The space was transformed with vibrant purple decorations, the symbolic color often associated with the movement for women’s equality and empowerment. Tables were set with canvases, brushes, and paints, ready for each participant to bring her own vision to life. As attendees arrived, there was a shared excitement in the air — not just to paint, but to spend meaningful time together celebrating womanhood.
The workshop began with a guided painting session where participants followed a featured artwork: a stylized portrait of a woman wearing a wide hat against a bold purple background. While everyone started with the same inspiration, each canvas quickly became unique. Different color choices, brush strokes, and personal touches transformed the painting into individual expressions of creativity.
What made the event truly special was the sense of community that developed throughout the afternoon. Friends encouraged each other, laughter filled the room, and even first-time painters discovered that art doesn’t require perfection — only the courage to try. The event welcomed women of different ages and backgrounds, creating a space where creativity became a shared language.
Beyond the art itself, the gathering served as a reminder of the importance of creating spaces where women can connect, support one another, and celebrate their achievements. Events like this show how creativity can be both empowering and healing, allowing participants to step away from daily routines and simply enjoy the process of making something with their own hands.
By the end of the session, the room was filled with finished paintings — each one different, each one meaningful. Participants proudly held their canvases, smiling alongside the friends and family members who shared the experience with them.
The celebration of 8M through art reminded everyone present that empowerment can take many forms. Sometimes it’s found in activism, sometimes in conversation, and sometimes in something as simple as a paintbrush and a blank canvas waiting to become a story.
Because when women gather to create, inspire, and uplift one another, the result is always more than just art — it’s community, expression, and a celebration of the power of women. 🎨💜
